AGAINST US 🌈 WITHIN US is a project of diversity, inclusivity, hope and love.
It is a platform for sharing LGBTQ+ stories with the intention to create harmony and understanding within and surrounding our wonderful queer community. After over two decades of never believing that I could love or be loved, a combination of stories — real and fiction — gave me the courage and inspiration to come out and truly embrace myself. I started this project after realizing the fact that I was not alone, because for me that realization changed everything.
It is my genuine wish that anyone and everyone who comes across this project finds a piece of comfort for your own experience or a newfound sense of understanding for those around you. We can all be so different, but we are also the same: We love and are loved. Since September of 2021, this has been my most cherished work and human experience. Thank you for discovering and loving AGAINST US 🌈 WITHIN US. May freedom find you wherever you are.

Mild Laohapoonrungsee is a photographer, creative and multimedia editor currently based in Bangkok, Thailand. She graduated from Boston University's College of Communication in May 2022 with a master's degree in journalism and a focus in visual storytelling.
AGAINST US 🌈 WITHIN US granted her the honor to be chosen as the recipient of the Christopher John Weigl Memorial Award for Excellence in Visual Journalism.
