“When I started college, I had really long straight hair. And I had wanted to cut my hair for a really really long time. My mom was always like, ‘No. No.’ Then, it was my sophomore year of college, in April, and I was having a really bad day. I walked past this hair salon every single day, so I decided to go in and they asked me what I wanted to do. And I said, ‘I want to shave my head.’ The barber was like, ‘Are you sure?’ And I said, ‘Yes!’ When it was done, they turned me around so I could see it in the mirror. And I was like, ‘Oh my god.’ I felt like myself for the first time ever. It was amazing. The barber was really excited for me because she saw how excited I was. After that, I went to show it to all my friends and they were really supportive of it.”
